Boxes are tipped onto a loose soil extractor, flume destoner, barrel washer, sponge drier and inspection.
After inspection the washed potatoes are elevated and put into any of four holding bins/silos.
Bin/silo storage allows different varieties or sizes of potatoes to be stored and packed as required.
When the personnel have washed and inspected the crop they can then be transfered to the weighing/packing section where they can carry out the final stage of the process.
A bin/silo storage system can considerably reduce labour.
